We’ve just released the fourth v1.0 release candidate, you can download it on GitHub. There was no official announcement of RC3 yesterday because we discovered a regression immediately after releasing the builds.

Currently, we are down to just one release blocker that is a macOS-specific UI issue. We’ll wait another week to see if there are any new blockers preventing us from releasing the final version. If all goes well, we will release FreeCAD 1.0 sometime next week.

Great news, I’m confused though — Git has an RC3 released two days ago but no RC4?

      There’s both rc3 and rc4.

I’m an ID student who has to learn a lot of bloated nonsense software.
I’m so hype for this release, I’m gonna recommend it to everyone

Where / How is best way to donate $$ to the FreeCAD project? Will such donations be disbursed to those who have been doing all the hard work (e.g. the developers)? TIA.

There are multiple options, you can find them all at https://www.freecad.org/sponsor.php.

The vast majority of the funds has been earmarked for grants to developers. The TNP fixes port was among major achievements possible in 1.0 thanks to these grants.

Is that macOS-specific UI issue the fact that it doesn’t respect dark mode? I. e., the title bar and open/save dialogs are rendered in light mode, and also some text might be unreadable because of dark/light theme mix.

Thanks for all the effort. Just downloaded RC4 and have already been using it successfully. The prior RC versions have been stable too. This is very exciting and the effort is greatly appreciated!

Congratulations to everyone involved in FreeCAD! I had tried the 0.21 version but I did not really find it user friendly, especially for the sketch constraints in Part Design.
I installed the 1.0 RC and I find it very pleasant to use and efficient. It is really competing with the commercial softwares.

Thank you and keep up the good work.
