Spot­ted in the wild is this excel­lent mini doc­u­men­tary with Dr Adri­an Bowyer. If the name is unfa­mil­iar, Dr Adri­an Bowyer found­ed the open­source RepRap project with the idea of self repli­cat­ing 3D print­ers. The RepRap project has a very real claim that it was the cat­a­lyst and dri­ver that led to many of us have 3D print­ers in our homes and workshops. 

In this great doc­u­men­tary we hear this sto­ry, whilst also tour­ing Dr Bowyer’s amaz­ing home research/lab/engineering space. It’s delight­ful that from around the 6 minute 30 sec­ond mark we see Dr Bowyer sat in front of a large com­put­er mon­i­tor with a won­der­ful CAD project open in FreeCAD!
