KiCad 10 is released!

KiCad 10 is released!

Whilst we await our own significant releases, we wanted to take an opportunity to congratulate our wider open source family members, KiCad, on the recent release of KiCad version 10.

The new version builds on the previous excellence with a whole host of new features and improvements which you can read up on over on this announcement post. As a tiny cross section of new stuff there are new features such as a new interface for editing DRC rules, new methods (hopovers) of visualising wires crossing in schematics and track tuning features to allow user to maximise control over routing parameters.

With some crossover of the FreeCAD and KiCad communities, both users and developers, and of course FreeCAD workbenches such as KiConnect and KiCad StepUp, we love watching the KiCad project go from strength to strength. If you want to financially support KiCad then it’s a great time to make a donation.

Hi Louis, FreeCAD has lots of tools for this, you can download the latest version here and perhaps you can look on youtube for tutorials on the “FreeCAD BIM workbench” to get you started. https://www.freecad.org/
